Vanderburgh County has one of the lowest school tax rates (1.1198%) in the State of Indiana (average state rate: 1.4668%).
During the EVSC referendum campaign, it was determined that it was in the school community’s best interest to work within the EVSC’s current financial structure rather than raise taxes to pay for school improvements and new buildings. No new tax increase was adopted to implement the objectives of the Strategic Plan.
Property taxes and other financial issues are of concern in every community, and the EVSC is committed to operating more efficiently and effectively to further the overall corporation goal of student success.
